Spend a Day at an Estancia in Buenos Aires
Our Estancia Activity Add-On provides students with an entire day at a local estancia in the province of Buenos Aires. This is a perfect weekend escape to get a chance to experience horses, barbecues and gauchos!
What Is an Activity Add-On?
An Activity Add-On is a way to compliment Spanish learning through a cultural activity specific to Argentina. Add-ons are organized on a weekly basis so students can do just one week or spend their entire program participating. Any student may take part as they are held outside class time, making activity add-ons the perfect way to experience Buenos Aires.
What Is Included in the Estancia Activity Add-On?
Every weekend the Estancia Activity Add-On will provide one day at an estancia, a local ranch, where students will be able to experience the life of the gaucho, Argentina's cowboy. It is a great break from the hustle and bustle of the big city by traveling to a rural area in the province of Buenos Aires. At the estancia students taste incredible Argentine meat at a traditional asado, an Argentine barbecue, and they saddle up for a horse ride around the ranch with one of the gauchos. Apart from these two set activities, a big part of visiting an estancia is enjoying the outdoors and the countryside. Students return to the city refreshed and ready for more weeks of Spanish classes.
Optional Polo Lessons and Additional Asados
For those who love horses, students can also have the chance to visit a different polo estancia where they can have a polo lessons or even get a chance to watch a real polo game. Alternatively for those foodies out there, more asado opportunities are available with dinners and food tours at traditional Argentine parrillas. These extra activities/trips are optional and are booked after arrival here at the school.
