Events to help you enjoy Autumn in Buenos Aires

 

March is coming and Summer is very nearly over.… But don’t worry, with Porteños arriving back in Buenos Aires after their summer holidays, March is when the City´s social calendar gets really exciting!

Below are some of Expanish Blog´s suggestions for enjoying Autumn.

 

Puro Tango

Miguel Angel Zotto with his company Tango x 2 perform for the first time Puro Tango. Six couples and seven musicians make a world that reconstruct the various styles of tango, influenced by the cultural models, that from age to age, were predominant in the culture of Argentina.

Cielo de una noche de verano (Summer nights sky)
The idea is to marvel at the sky with telescopic vision. From 8 PM, there are audiovisual Astronomy presentations: Our Place in the galaxy, the moon, planets, sky, constellations , etc; the life of stars and other astronomical subjects presented with visual support for children and adults in the park that surround the Planetario. From 20.30, Watching the Sky: recognition of stars and constellations visible in the real sky. And from 20.45 to 22.30, observations by telescopes, moon, planets, stars… and more!

p.s. If it rains or it is heavily clouded, it will be suspended.

Inmigrantes en el barrio de La Boca (Immigrants in the neighbourhood of La Boca)
“History in its place” Tour
Meeting point: Plaza Bomberos. An interactive dramatization in the heart of  La Boca, evoking one of the milestones in the construction of our identity as a nation: immigration.

Over a hundred murgas take the corners of Buenos Aires to celebrate Carnival. Drums and cymbals, colorful costumes, and music to wake up the dead

Yo leo en el bar (I read at the bar)


In 2011, the year when Buenos Aires became the World Book Capital by UNESCO, a library with the complete works of Jorge Luis Borges will be publicly available in fifteen notable bars from the city

Copa República Argentina de Polo

Clubs throughout the country participate in this great championship. Circuits and sub-circuits are organized to reach the final round of this tournament.
