Visa Information for Study Abroad Programs

Your guide to visa requirements for our Study Abroad programs in Spain and Argentina.

Visa Information

Good news! Most Expanish Study Abroad programs are under 90 days, so U.S. citizens do not need a visa to participate in our standard summer or short-term courses in Spain or Argentina. 🇺🇸 For U.S. Citizens Attending Short-Term Programs If your program is under 90 days:

No visa is required for Spain or Argentina.

Just bring your valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months after arrival).

Easy, stress-free travel!

Planning to Stay Over 90 Days?

If you’re considering extending your stay by enrolling in an Intensive Spanish Course after your Study Abroad program, and your total stay will exceed 90 days, you’ll need to apply for a Student Visa.

Here’s what you’ll typically need:

General Requirements for a Student Visa (Spain or Argentina):

  • Completed Student Visa Application Form

  • Valid passport (with at least one blank page and 6+ months validity)

  • Official acceptance letter from Expanish

  • Proof of accommodation during your stay

  • Proof of financial means (bank statement, affidavit, etc.)

  • International health insurance

  • A recent passport-style photo

  • A criminal background check (for some consulates)

  • Visa appointment at your nearest consulate

Important: The visa process can take several weeks, so we recommend starting as early as possible if you’re planning a longer stay.
