Summer Camp in Málaga

REQUIREMENTS

DAY CAMP - Only students staying with a parent or guardian may enroll in the day camp. Transportation to and from camp is not included.

SPANISH COURSE

All students will participate in an intensive Spanish course of 20 lessons per week. Classes are held near the residence and have a maximum of 12 students per class.

Classes are taught entirely in Spanish and promote the four language skills: speaking, reading, writing, and oral comprehension.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Students will have a mix of cultural, social and sport activities every weekday, night activities, and weekend excursions. They are designed for students to explore local culture, practice Spanish outside the classroom, and have fun.

• Cultural Activities - These are activities within Málaga and are 2 to 4 hours in length. Will take part in the afternoon during the week. Example activities include walking tours, flamenco & salsa classes, museum visits, and more. 5 activities per week.

• Night Activities - Students will have night activities to socialize in an organized environment. These can be disco nights, movie nights, night tours, etc. 3 night activities per week.

• Excursions - 1 excursion per weekend: students will take a day trip or a weekend activity to a nearby cultural site. May include Nerja/Frigiliana, Marbella and coast, Río Chillar or Aqualand. During day trips, students will have a packed lunch as well as a snack provided by the school.

** Students taking a 1-week course will not participate in the weekend activities/excursions

ACCOMMODATION

Expanish offers students a residence accommodation. The residence is called RESA Campus and is located in the neighborhood of Teatinos. The residence is in a building with 140 rooms. Students will be separated by gender. There is 24-hour staff in the residence to ensure students are comfortable and supervised. Meals are served in the residences’ canteen. Rooms will be cleaned once per week.

Residence includes:

• Double rooms with en-suite bathrooms

• Buffet meals served in the cafeteria

• Access to common areas like social room, games room, cinema room, terrace, and a gym.

OTHER INFORMATION

Supervision and security

Students will be supervised by Expanish staff and activity leaders who have experience working with children and coordinating groups. All staff have passed a background check.

The ratio of staff to students during the program activities is 1 to 15.

Attending classes and activities is compulsory.

Students may not go out at night unsupervised. The curfew during the week is 11 pm.

There will be 24/7 supervision staff at the residence. Expanish staff will live at the residence with students for the duration of the program.

Alcohol and drug consumption is prohibited and its consumption will result in immediate expulsion from the course without any refund. Any extra costs incurred must be paid by the customer (transfer, new flight, escort service for minors, etc.).

Transportation

• Airport Transfers - Expanish will provide a flight arrival window for students to use our group transfer service. Students arriving by themselves at other times will have to cover the cost of an individual transfer (60€ per way). All flight details are required 15 days before arrival at the latest.

• City Travel - Students will travel by private or public transportation and this is covered by the program fee.
