“I’ll Definitely Be Back!” - A Summer of Adventure in Spain

This was a Summer of Spanish, adventure and new friendships for dozens of 12-17 year olds who joined our immersive camps for young learners in Spain. Our 1-6 week programs were based in Barcelona and Malaga over July-August, perfect summer destinations to welcome students from all over the world for an unforgettable experience.

What makes these programs so special is the mix of learning, adventure, and the simple joy of spending time with other teens from across the globe. From afternoons on the beach to thrilling days at amusement parks, from exploring centuries-old streets to hiking mountains at sunset, each day is a chance to try something new and make lifelong memories.

Summer 2025 Recap

When we asked students what stood out the most from the experience, the answers typically centre on meeting new people and having fun together. Christina, a 16-year-old from Germany, loved her Summer in Barcelona: “My favourite memory is all the people I’ve met and all the friends I’ve made. You meet up with new people and you feel connected because you’re all at the same Spanish camp, and then you make memories together.”

And it’s not just about connecting with other students. 15-year-old Selma, from Kuwait, who arrived in Malaga with no Spanish at all but immediately felt the warmth of the locals. “The people here are very welcoming,” she says. “It’s my first time here and I came with zero Spanish, but I still felt very welcomed.”

An Agenda Full of Activities

Our Summer programs are designed to help students explore their host city and its surroundings through afternoon and evening activities. Christina describes one of her favorite afternoons in Barcelona: “We went up a mountain and the view over the whole of Barcelona at sunset was so beautiful. It was really worth it.” She also enjoyed the range of other activities. “We’ve done sports, creative activities like clay art and dancing salsa. Every day is something new and exciting.”

Down south in Málaga, the sparkling Mediterranean is a part of daily Summer life. Noah, 17, from Austria, loved the balance of sport and relaxation: “My favourite memory is going to the beach, playing volleyball, swimming, and having fun with the group. Málaga is a beautiful city, the people are really nice, and so is the weather.”

Another highlight for our Malaga students was a trip to the Aqualand water park. “The slides are really fun”, says Selma. “Sometimes a bit scary but that makes it more fun!” Septim, 14, from France says he also loved that trip: “ Aqualand was fun - I love amusement parks! We did loads of things and there was always a great energy.”

Learning Through Immersion

Of course, these summer programs are also about personal growth and developing new skills. Dynamic Spanish lessons in the morning give teens the basic tools and confidence to dive into real conversations during the afternoon activities. What starts in the classroom quickly comes alive on the streets, in cafés, and with new friends from around the world.

For Scarlett (14), from the USA, the lessons went beyond the language: “I’ve learned a lot of Spanish, but also about communication in general. Like how to communicate with people even if you don’t know what they’re saying.”

15-year-old Emile also enjoyed our special life skills workshops, which aim to empower young students with a greater sense of independence and confidence. “We had many workshops about mindfulness and personal growth, which is good because you learn stuff that you would learn in school,” he explains.

These are skills that last forever, that open doors and shape futures. ”In the future I’d like to travel the world with Spanish,” says Christina. “I’d go on a trip and use Spanish as much as I can to make more new friends.”

A Summer That Lasts Forever

Every student finds their own highlights, but the stories we heard always seem to circle back to the friendships and memories made during an unforgettable summer in Spain. These are the things that last forever.

Our Summer Camps show that learning a language isn’t just about grammar—it’s about connection, adventure, and the freedom to explore the world with new friends by your side.

As Christina adds with a smile: “I’ll definitely be coming back next year!”
