Sergio Durán
Instructor
Sergio is a qualified Spanish teacher who holds a degree in Linguistics and Applied Language Studies from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Madrid.
After spending a memorable summer abroad learning English in the UK, Sergio switched career paths and dedicated himself to teaching Spanish. This transformative international experience, amplified by another year studying in Norway, helped him find his vocation as a language teacher for foreign students. He enjoys helping students grasp the internal mechanisms of the Spanish language and seeing them discover the depth of meaning and concepts that each word carries.
In his words
“My own experience learning English changed my life. So if my students can experience something even half as enriching then it is a worthwhile endeavour.”

About Madrid
What I like most about Madrid is its sport and leisure offerings. You can play any sport imaginable here.
Inspired by
Curiosity. There’s nothing better than learning new things or discovering how things you know really work.
Outside Work
I love playing padel, so I’ve usually got a racket in one hand and a ball in the other.
