Summer Research in Argentina
In this unique summer program, you’ll dive deep into research while immersing yourself in the vibrant culture of Buenos Aires. Over 8 weeks, you’ll complete a research methodology course, fieldwork, and a final research project, all guided by experienced mentors.

Research and Course Breakdown
During the Summer Research Program in Buenos Aires, you'll earn 6 U.S. semester credits through a combination of online and in-person coursework. The program includes both academic learning and hands-on field research, all while immersing you in the dynamic culture of Buenos Aires. This program is hybrid and includes classes at Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLASCO) and our Expanish Study Center.
Credits & Course Structure
Credits Breakdown:
2 U.S. credits from the Research Methodology Course at FLACSO (2 weeks online + 6 weeks in-person)
3 U.S. credits from your Research Project & Fieldwork (6 weeks)
1 U.S. credit from the Spanish Language Course at Expanish (18 hours total, required for all participants)
Languages of Instruction:
FLACSO: Spanish or English, depending on your research focus
Expanish: Spanish language courses (Beginner to Advanced)
Program Duration:
Total Duration: 8 weeks
Online Portion: 2 weeks
In-Person Portion: 6 weeks
Eligibility
GPA: 2.5 GPA
Class Standing: Minimum of 30 hours of academic coursework completed at the time of application
Additional Requirements: Placement requirements will vary depending on professional area and placement type
Visa Requirements:
A student visa is not required for this program.

Our campus is located in the heart of the Buenos Aires in the ideal neighborhood for students.

Research at FLASCO
Your research courses, mentoring, and studies will take place at Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLASCO).
You will meet weekly for 1 hour with your research mentor through FLASCO.
FLASCO research projects can be done in both English or Spanish, but Spanish will open up more opportunities.
From our Expanish campus, to daily activities, to FLASCO - the city is well connected and easy to navigate for students.
