Buenos Aires through the eyes of a student from the United States
After a great summer studying in Buenos Aires, Emma shares her top experiences! Maybe you will want to copy her ideas!

Buenos Aires is a city full of life and fun. There are museums, parks, restaurants, stores, and so much more. With so much to do and see, it can be hard to choose what to do next. So to help, here is a list of my Top 10 Experiences in Buenos Aires.
1. Go to an Heladeria
Buenos Aires has so many amazing heladerias. The ice cream there is some of the best I’ve ever had. The places I recommend are Luccianos, Helados Grutas, and Rappanui. My personal favorite flavor is dulce de leche.
2. Visit Barrio Chino
Barrio Chino was one of my favorite places to visit while I was in Buenos Aires. You can find a lot of great food and desserts here. It’s also just a fun place to walk around, and there are some cute photo ops!
3. Visit La Boca
La Boca is a neighborhood at the mouth of the Riachuelo River. It’s a colorful place known for music, sports, food, and art. There are some beautiful murals all over. It’s also the home of the Boca soccer team, and you can find many shops selling all kinds of Boca merch, and the people have a lot of pride in their team.
4. Bookstores
Did you know that Buenos Aires has the most bookstores per capita in the world? If you’re a book lover (like me), this is definitely a great place to be! There’s a bookstore on almost every street, so make sure to step into as many as possible. One of the most famous is El Ateneo, which is an old theater that has been turned into a bookstore!

5. Plaza Italia
Plaza Italia has so much to do. There’s an outdoor used bookstore called Feria de Libros Plaza Italia, a beautiful park, and the entrances to the zoo and the botanical gardens are nearby! Obviously, my favorite part was the Feria de Libros.
6. La Bomba de Tiempo Concert
La Bomba de Tiempo is a percussion group in Buenos Aires, and they are amazing! They have concerts every Monday night. You can buy food and drinks here and enjoy some awesome music. If you have the opportunity to go, do it!
7. Go to a Tango Show
Argentina is known for Tango, both the music and the dance. You can find tango clubs and tango shows all over Buenos Aires. It’s a great way to experience part of the culture of Argentina. If you have a free night, check one out!
8. Take a Tango Class
Watching tango is a lot of fun, but you know what’s even better? Dancing tango! It’s okay if you’re not the most coordinated person, all you have to do is have fun!
9. Go to Colonia de Sacramento
Okay so this one technically isn’t in Buenos Aires, but it’s definitely worth a day trip. Colonia is a city across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires. It’s so peaceful and beautiful there. Take a Saturday and head over!
10. Estancia
If you’re given the opportunity to visit the Estancia, you should definitely go. They have an asado with some really great food. There’s also a lot of cute animals, and if you’re lucky you might make friends with them! You also get to learn about gauchos and even get a little musical performance!
This is not even close to everything to do in Buenos Aires, but it’s a starting point for your list! Getting to learn Spanish in a Spanish-speaking country is an amazing opportunity, so make the most of it and see everything you can during your time!
