This summer internship program blends professional development with cross-cultural learning, giving you hands-on experience in your field while exploring the rich natural and cultural landscapes of Costa Rica.
Whether you're earning academic credit, building your resume, or seeking a life-changing international experience, this program supports your personal and professional growth: all while living and working in one of the world’s greenest countries.
Intern 20–30 hours per week in a role aligned with your goals. With opportunities in 11 different professional fields, you’ll gain essential skills and insight into international work practices.
Internships are available in both English and Spanish, choose the option that suits your comfort level and learning goals.
Your internship is supported by our Global Internship Seminar, an online course covering.
You can earn university credit based on your total internship hours:
3 credits = 120 hours
6 credits = 246 hours
Want to boost your Spanish while interning in Costa Rica? You’ll have the option to enroll in evening non-credit Spanish classes: a great way to practice the language in real life and deepen your connection with local culture.
Costa Rica Internship Abroad programs are credit-bearing and accredited through our partner university, the Westminster University (U.S). Interns earn 3-6 credits depending on internship hours.
