Internships are available in both English and Spanish, giving you flexibility based on your language skills and comfort level.
Your internship is paired with our Global Internship Seminar.
Depending on your internship hours, you can earn:
3 credits for 120 hours of internship
6 credits for 246 hours of internship
If your hoping to improve your Spanish while abroad in Barcelona, Interns can enroll in our Evening Spanish courses! These classes will not provide additional credit, but will be a valuable addition to your time abroad.

Barcelona Internship Placement Process & Credits
1. Initial Advising Meeting Start with a one-on-one meeting with our Internship Coordinator to discuss your background, career interests, and professional goals. This helps us identify the types of organizations that best match your profile.
2. Interviews with Potential Host Organizations Our team will connect you with selected companies or organizations interested in your profile. You’ll interview with potential hosts, and once there’s a mutual fit, your internship placement is confirmed.
3. Orientation & Ongoing Support Before your internship begins, you’ll participate in a comprehensive orientation at the Expanish Study Center. Throughout the program, our team provides regular check-ins and evaluations to ensure your internship experience is positive and rewarding.
4. Begin Your Summer Internship Start gaining hands-on professional experience with your host organization. Alongside your internship, you’ll also take an evening Spanish course included in the program, helping you strengthen your language skills while working in an international environment.
Credits Earned
3 U.S. credits for completing 120 internship hours
6 U.S. credits for completing 240 internship hours
